Taste of Sydney 2012 has come and gone, but here is a year’s notice…diarise for March next year! It is a wonderful way to discover some of Sydney’s best restaurants, as well as wines and other produce from both Australia and New Zealand. http://www.tasteofsydney.com.au/
This year I was ecstatic when I stumbled upon saucisson (French salami) made by Jean-Marc Amar from La Bastide de France. Delicious! That and frogs legs are the two foods that make me miss France the most. Currently, you can only find their saucisson at markets around Sydney but I was told that online purchasing will soon be available. You might want to check out their website: http://www.labastide.com.au/
Taste of Sydney was also the occasion for me to purchase treats from Sweetness the Patisserie (http://www.sweetness.com.au). They make the most delicious marshmallows ever and I highly recommend your try the rocky road made with homemade marshmallows and pâtes de fruit.
On the restaurant side, I loved the fried school prawns with prosciutto and rouille from Quarter Twenty One, the Fritelle of mushrooms and truffle oil from A Tavola and the braised lamb with polenta and green sauce from The Montpellier Public House. All incredibly tasty.
yum doe!
i was just wondering if you’d had the chance to go to Taste.
